Terry Pratchett's Birthplace

Terry Pratchett was born April 28^th in 1948 in a place called Beaconsfield (pronounced like Beckonsfield) in Buckinghamshire, England, United Kingdom. Beaconsfield is situated in the Chiltern Hills, a natural chalk escarpment also known simply as The Chilterns, and consists of an its historic Old Town and a more modern New Town, which is surrounded by Green Belt (land that is preserved from development) and ancient woodland. Beaconsfield is also exactly half way between London and Oxford, so was traditionally a well-trodden stop off place for traders and travellers between the two cities.
